Meet the Attorney
John Sholly
John Sholly is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, and a proud graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service with a major in International Politics in 1988. During his time at Georgetown, he had the pleasure of meeting his future wife, Leslie Hunley, a Knoxville native. Since 1990, John has been a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Following his graduation, Mr. Sholly worked as a Federal Investigator for two years before embarking on his legal journey at the University of Tennessee College of Law. In 1994, he obtained his J.D. and subsequently joined the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as a Regulatory Analyst. Simultaneously, he started building his legal practice, eventually becoming a dedicated solo practitioner in 1996. Additionally, from 1996 to 1998, he served as a Knox County Judicial Commissioner.
Outside of his professional endeavors, John is a devoted family man, sharing his life with his beloved wife and five children: Emily, John, Jr., Richard, William, and Lorelei. He actively participates in community activities, including involvement with the Knights of Columbus and the Optimist Club. Moreover, he takes pride in his active membership at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
